Methodology
Each business in the dataset has a startup cost range for a lean US launch (equipment, software, licensing, insurance deposits, basic branding and first marketing — not a fully built-out version), a monthly revenue range a solo founder or small team commonly reaches after about 12 months, an estimated time to first revenue, and a difficulty rating based on skills, licensing, capital and competition.
Figures are researched planning estimates reviewed against typical US pricing, not survey results or guarantees. Medians are calculated across the low and high ends of each range. Local costs, regulations and results vary. Read more about how we research.
