78 Bar Name Ideas

How to name your bar

1. 1Picture it in neonBar signs glow at night, and names with eight to twelve letters fit a neon sign and still read from across the street. Long names get abbreviated by regulars anyway.
2. 2Name the vibe, not just the drinksA speakeasy needs mystery, a dive needs grit, and a sports bar needs energy. The name should tell people whether to dress up, bring the team jersey, or just show up.
3. 3Make it easy to say where to meetMost bar traffic comes from friends texting each other a meeting spot. A name that is easy to say and spell gets typed into maps correctly.
4. 4Settle the name before the liquor licenseYour liquor license application lists your business name and any trade name. Changing it later can mean extra paperwork with your state or local alcohol control board.
5. 5Check for bars with similar names nearbyMany cities already have a handful of Tap, Tavern, and Pub names. Search Google Maps and Yelp in your city so you do not inherit someone else's reviews.
