What is Google Business Profile?
Definition
A Google Business Profile is a free listing that shows your business information, hours, photos, and reviews on Google Search and Google Maps.
Why it matters
For local businesses, this profile is often the first thing a potential customer sees. A complete one makes it easy for people to call, get directions, or book.
A tutoring center that adds service descriptions, 25 photos, and weekly posts, and asks every happy parent for a review, may rise from 150 to 400 profile views a month. If 5 percent of views turn into inquiries and a quarter of those enroll at $240 a month, that is 5 new students and $1,200 in monthly revenue.
Verification is required, usually by postcode, phone, or video. Keep hours, holiday closures, and categories current, since wrong information frustrates customers and costs sales.
Common mistakes
- !Leaving the listing unclaimed or unverified so someone else can edit it.
- !Ignoring reviews instead of replying politely to both good and bad ones.
