Slogan generator
A strong slogan is short, specific to what you sell and easy to repeat. Tell the generator what you offer, who buys it and your proof point, and it writes taglines you can shortlist and test with real customers.
- Start the day right. We handle the rest.
- Small-batch coffee, done right.
- Fresh Grounds: start the day right, made easy.
- Made for early risers.
- Portland's favorite small-batch coffee.
- Less hassle. More right.
- Small-batch coffee you can count on.
- The small-batch coffee early risers recommend.
How to pick a slogan that works
- Say it out loud. If it is awkward to say, nobody will repeat it.
- Keep it under about eight words so it fits on a van, a sign or an Instagram bio.
- Make it about the customer's result, not your company.
- Check it is not already a competitor's or someone's trademark before you print anything.
Test before you commit
Put your top three slogans in front of real customers — on a flyer, an ad variation or a post — and keep the one that gets the best response. A slogan is cheap to change in month one and expensive after it is painted on a truck.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a slogan and a tagline?
People use them interchangeably. Strictly, a tagline is a lasting line tied to the brand, while a slogan can be tied to a campaign. For a small business, one short line used everywhere is enough.
How long should a business slogan be?
Short enough to read at a glance — usually three to eight words.
Can I trademark my slogan?
Slogans can sometimes be registered as trademarks if they are distinctive. Search existing marks first and talk to a trademark attorney if the slogan is central to your brand.
