What is Value Proposition?
Definition
A value proposition is a clear statement of the specific benefit your business delivers to a particular customer and why they should choose you over alternatives.
Why it matters
A strong value proposition answers three things quickly: who it is for, what problem it solves, and what makes it different. If a visitor cannot answer that within a few seconds of landing on your site, you lose them.
Compare "We offer cleaning services" with "Move-out cleaning for renters in Austin, guaranteed to get your deposit back, booked in 2 minutes." The second names the customer, the outcome, and the proof. If it lifts website conversion from 2 percent to 3 percent on 1,500 monthly visitors, that is 15 more bookings at $220 each, or $3,300.
Write it from the customer's point of view, using their words, then test it with real prospects.
Common mistakes
- !Describing features and company history instead of the result the customer gets.
- !Using vague claims like quality and service that every competitor also makes.
