US seller fees (checked Oct 2026)
- Listing: $0.20 per listing, renewed for each extra unit sold
- Transaction: 6.5% × (item price + shipping + gift wrap)
- Processing: 3% × order total incl. tax + $0.25
- Offsite Ads: 15% (or 12% for $10k+ shops), max $100 per order
Fees people forget to price in
The transaction fee applies to the shipping you charge, not just the item, so moving cost into “free shipping” does not avoid it. Processing fees apply to the full order including sales tax. And Offsite Ads are mandatory for shops with $10,000 or more in sales over the prior 365 days, so a single ad-attributed order can take 12% on top of everything else.
Pricing so fees don't eat your margin
Add up materials, packaging, your labor and a typical fee load (around 10–11% plus $0.45 on a domestic order without ads), then apply your markup. Use this calculator on your cheapest item first: low-priced items lose the most to fixed per-order fees, and bundles or minimum order sizes often fix that.
Outside the US
Sellers in other countries pay different payment processing rates and, in many countries, a regulatory operating fee. Check Etsy's Fees & Payments Policy for your country before relying on these numbers.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Etsy take per sale?
For a US seller: $0.20 listing fee, 6.5% of item price plus shipping, and 3% + $0.25 payment processing. On a $30 item with $5 shipping that is about $3.73, or roughly 11% of the order, before any Offsite Ads fee.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee applies to the shipping and gift-wrap price you charge, and processing fees apply to the full order total.
Can I opt out of Etsy Offsite Ads?
Shops under $10,000 in sales over the past 365 days can opt out. Shops above that threshold must participate and pay a 12% fee on attributed orders, capped at $100 per order.
How do I price items on Etsy to make a profit?
Add materials, packaging and labor, include roughly 10–11% plus about $0.45 per order for fees, then apply your markup and compare with similar listings.
