Venmo business profile fees (checked Oct 2026)
- Venmo payment: Fee = Amount × 1.9% + $0.10
- Tap to Pay: Fee = Amount × 2.29% + $0.10
- No fee on payments under $1
- Net = Amount − Fee
- Amount to charge = (Target net + $0.10) ÷ (1 − Rate)
Worked example: a dog walker
A dog walker charges $25 a walk and is paid to her Venmo business profile. Fee = $0.475 + $0.10 = $0.58, so she keeps $24.42. Over 80 walks a month that is $46 in fees.
If she wants exactly $50 for a two-dog walk after fees, reverse mode gives (50 + 0.10) ÷ 0.981 = $51.08.
Business profile vs personal profile
Venmo offers business profiles for people who sell goods and services; the seller fee above applies to payments sent to a business profile. Personal profiles can also receive payments that buyers tag as purchases, which Venmo handles under its own rules — this calculator covers business profile fees only.
The customer does not pay this fee — Venmo deducts it from what you receive. Venmo also notes that customers paying a business profile with a credit card are exempt from the usual 3% credit card funding fee.
When Venmo is the cheapest option
At 1.9% + 10¢, a Venmo business payment usually costs less than taking the same amount by card on Square or Stripe, especially on small tickets where those processors' 15–30¢ fixed fees bite. The trade-off is reach: it only works for customers who already use Venmo, so most small businesses offer it alongside card payments rather than instead of them.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Venmo business fee?
1.9% + $0.10 per payment received from another Venmo account, and 2.29% + $0.10 for contactless payments accepted with Tap to Pay on iPhone or Android.
How much is the Venmo fee on $100?
$2.00 for a standard payment to a business profile (1.9% of $100 plus 10¢), leaving $98. With Tap to Pay it is $2.39.

The seller. Venmo deducts the fee from the payment before it reaches the business profile balance.
