Poshmark US commission (checked Oct 2026)

  • Commission = $2.95 if Sale price < $15, otherwise 20% × Sale price
  • Earnings = Sale price − Commission
  • Profit = Earnings − Item cost
  • Profit margin = Profit ÷ Sale price × 100

Worked example: a thrifted dress

A reseller buys a dress for $6 and it sells for $40 after an offer. Poshmark's 20% commission is $8, so earnings are $32 and profit is $26 — a 65% margin on the sale price.

A $12 top sells under the threshold: Poshmark keeps $2.95 and the seller earns $9.05. On cheap items the flat fee works out to a higher percentage than 20%.

The $15 threshold and pricing

Because the fee switches at $15, earnings jump in an odd way around it. A $14 sale earns $11.05, and a $15 sale earns $12.00 — only 95¢ more for a dollar higher price. Above $15 every extra dollar of price keeps 80¢.

Price with offers in mind: the commission is charged on the final sale price, so accepting a lower offer also lowers the commission.

What this calculator leaves out

  • Shipping: the calculator assumes the buyer pays shipping; if you cover part of it with a discount, add that to item cost.
  • Supplies: mailers, tape and garment bags — add them to item cost for a truer profit.
  • State taxes on seller fees: Poshmark notes that since October 1, 2025, sellers located in Texas see an additional Texas Seller Fee Tax deducted from earnings.
  • Income tax: reselling profit is generally taxable income; this page is general information, not tax advice.
